With the power of corporate Facebook groups, brands today have the opportunity to build fan communities in a way that simply wasn't possible back then.
What is the difference between a Facebook page and a Facebook group?
Facebook pages serve the same purpose as your personal profile: they are a platform to convey a point of view and create an authentic public presence with images and posts.
It's like you're planting a flag on the internet - we're here, we sell craft beers (or another product), so get used to it!
Your company's Facebook page is your official Facebook identity, with which you face the public. This is a place for your business updates and practical information. It is visible to anyone on the Internet through search engines and only official representatives of the brand can create one.
With a Facebook business page, you can collect audience analytics, add a call to action, or useful apps and services. You can also like and comment on posts like a Facebook page, giving those thumbs up on behalf of the business.
On the other hand, Facebook groups are a place for your fans / clients / readers to come together in the same place to talk about how much they like your brand or company. This is a place for discussion, weird memes, gathering around common causes, learning from your product, accessing exclusive knowledge, or falling in love with someone who loves a company as much as you do.
You may want to start this group to spark conversation, or maybe a super fan wants to start one. You can choose that the groups are public or private. Either way, the focus here is to create an authentic and loyal online community.
Conclution? Pages are for broadcast. Groups are for conversation.
Benefits of Facebook groups for companies
-
It's a direct line to consumers
The people in your Facebook group are probably your most loyal consumers or fans. They are spending their free time thinking and talking about your business on purpose. No one is forcing them to participate.
Here's an opportunity to access valuable data from the people who know your brand best. Observe, learn, ask for feedback, and then use that information.
-
You will build lasting relationships with clients
Here's an important piece of information: customers are loyal to companies that treat them well. Inviting fans to be part of a community and engaging with them directly and regularly shows that you care, and this builds invaluable loyalty and trust.
If you want to take your customer relationship to the next level, a Facebook group is a great way to get serious about this.
-
You will increase your organic reach
The Facebook algorithm is designed to prioritize the content of Facebook groups that have high levels of engagement. The more you and your group post, the greater your reach in the news section. You will be a star, darling! A star!
